About me

Gioia Caputo

Nutrition & lifestyle coach. I help busy people eat well, feel well and enjoy food again, the Mediterranean way.

A short bio

Hello! I am Gioia, I was born in Sicily, Italy. I grew-up among Mediterranean gardens, colorful street markets and a millenarian food tradition. After leaving Italy, I have studied, worked and lived in 7 countries and 3 continents. I have been a model, an athlete, and a corporate manager. I am passionate about travelling, meeting new people and, of course, good food. I have experienced first-hand the power of good nutrition and life-style to heal mind and body, so I firstly started coaching friends and family members to then turn my passion into a job.

I now work with busy individuals who want to improve their health through food without giving up pleasure, culture or their social life. My coaching combines evidence-based nutrition with practical, everyday habits. I see clients in person in Barcelona, Spain and online all over the world, in English and Italian.

How I got here

Sunday lunches at my grandmother’s table were loud, long and full of food that nobody ever counted. It was only years later, while juggling a demanding job, irregular meals and constant tiredness, that I understood how much that way of eating had been looking after us.

I have lived in 7 countries and been working in Corporate Management for over 15 years, my days were very busy between work and personal life, and my diet reflected that lack of time and structure. I was tired, couldn’t properly work out, and I constantly felt heavy. Then COVID happened. The lockdown gave me the opportunity to work from home, rethink my nutritional habits and reconnect with my Mediterranean roots. That led me to develop new habits and make better food choices — changes that I was able to maintain even after returning to normal life and my office routine.

Today, I help other busy people make the same journey: away from extreme diets and towards a sustainable, joyful way of eating that fits real life. Life is busy, and we can all feel overwhelmed sometimes, but we can learn to deal with it the Mediterranean way!
